A Message From Simon Brewer

Simon Brewer
CEO

“Everyone’s story is different. Our Together strategy is about celebrating these stories and underlining our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. To do this effectively, we need and will actively seek to encourage people from diverse backgrounds to join us and create an environment where they are comfortable bringing their true selves to work, always. We believe that by doing so, we will support everyone to deliver the best possible service for our equally diverse customers.”

Our Together Strategy

The heart of our strategy is to be a great place to work, representative of our customer base and the communities we serve. Here's a summary of our key objectives:

Be A Great Place To Work
We're committed to fostering an inclusive culture that supports the well-being and success of each colleague. We will continue to stand together, ensuring that every voice is heard, respected, and valued.
Representation Matters
We pledge to ensure that diverse perspectives shape our decisions regarding Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Together, we will create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and respected.
Supporting Our Community
As a family business, giving back to the communities we call home is a part of our DNA. We will continue to support charities and organisations across the country that make a real difference, supporting our vision to make the world a brighter place.

Our Roadmap

We have outlined a plan to turn our vision into reality. From analysing diversity data to introducing training programs and inclusive recruitment practices, we're committed to making lasting change. By setting up training, sharing resources, and establishing governance around our goals, we're ensuring that inclusion is woven into the fabric of Brewers.

We have also introduced Together Champions and Supporters who are colleagues from across the business who will help create our first Together Forum and support the delivery of our initiative.

Help us to make Brewers an even more remarkable and inclusive place for everyone by joining today.

Menopause At Work

At Brewers, our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace extends to addressing the often-overlooked challenges of menopause. We recognise the unique difficulties faced during the different stages of menopause and are committed to supporting our colleagues through those challenges. We also want to recognise colleagues who are supporting others at work or in their personal life through the menopause.

We are on the path to becoming a Menopause-Friendly Employer, demonstrating our commitment to open discussions and accommodations.

Since 2022, we have taken significant steps to fulfil this commitment:

Our Commitment

Running time: 2:03
Menopause Policy:
We have introduced a comprehensive menopause policy outlining our support for colleagues.
Online Learning:
We have introduced online learning modules that are accessible to all colleagues, providing valuable insights into menopause.
Manager Training:
We are implementing training for managers to raise their awareness of menopause, its symptoms and impact.
Resources Availability:
Resources addressing menopause are readily available for colleagues to reference, fostering a culture of awareness and understanding.

We take pride in working with colleagues who share our commitment to breaking the silence around menopause, contributing to the journey of a fully inclusive workplace. Together, we strive to make Brewers a place where everyone feels supported and valued, irrespective of their individual experiences and challenges.

Neurodiversity At Work

Brewers is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace, as evident in our Neurodiversity Policy, which aligns with our broader equality, diversity, and inclusion initiative, Together.

Our primary aim is to establish an environment where all colleagues and customers are treated equitably, respectfully, and with understanding. We recognise the unique strengths that neurodiversity brings to our workforce and are committed to supporting and appreciating our neurodivergent colleagues.

Key commitments:

Equal Opportunities:
All colleagues are given every opportunity and will be supported to fulfil their maximum potential.
Strength In Diversity:
We recognise the power and value of neurodiversity in building a genuinely inclusive workplace.

Colleagues disclosing neurodivergent conditions will not encounter unfavourable treatment.

How We Support Neurodiversity:

Individual Approach:
Our aim is to understand and provide tailored support to applicants who are neurodivergent, making necessary adjustments as needed.
Awareness:
Colleagues are encouraged to familiarise themselves with our neurodiversity policy. Our recruitment team has undergone training to support our commitment to attracting applications from neurodivergent candidates.
Recruitment Approaches:
We are dedicated to treating all applicants fairly and respectfully during our recruitment processes. Reasonable adjustments will be offered as needed throughout the application and selection process.
